Can't hear that one ^^ as I'm at work, but for mixes of Primal Scream's Loaded it will be going some (imho) to touch Terry Farley's one:

and on a similar note, Andy Weatherall's mix of Come Together is pretty definitive (again, imho):

Sandie Shaw - Sympathy for the Devil. Can never quite decide if it's great or awful

It's great.

Hey Joe- Rory Gallagher

Oops I did it again - Richard Thompson

Agree on the Jennifer Warnes album, especially Joan of Arc.

Always - Leonard Cohen

Love will tear us apart - June Tabor and the Oysterband

John Wesley Harding (whole album)- Thea Gilmore

It was more the point that Loaded itself is a remix of Primal Scream's earlier song, I'm Losing More Than I Ever Had

Come Together is a good shout.

Weatherall's work sometimes benefits from a remix also. Is it too early to get the strobe and smoke machine out?

Ah yes. I saw him perform it live without giving away what it was. Hilarious, but utterly brilliant.

Disturbed - Sound of Silence

Aaaaaagh.

Crippled Black Phoenix ..and this

Was lucky enough to see the band(AC/DC ) in 1977 at the Mayfair Newcastle on a Friday night ..pay at the door ..
Even though he is a local lad ..Ive never liked Brian Johnson's vocal ..just way too strained

Ooh just remembered. Hounds of Love - Futureheads

Damn, I'd managed to forget about that one quite successfully. That's the "marmite" cover isn't it? People either love it or hate it. That and that version of Simon & Garfunkel that always comes up on these threads. I'd be happy if I never heard either of them again. That, and the third of my trinity of "that's not very good" (imho) covers goes to a band I generally quite like, but not in this instance:

OP pretty much won the thread with

Even Better Than The Real Thing (The Perfecto Mix) - U2

I'm not a big Perfecto or U2 fan, but that track is ginormous, and also reminds me of Rimini '92, enough said?

In the interests of time I'll offer a remix of a cover. Two birds, one stone, etc.

Sadly, the original video isn't available, so this is a live version, but I absolutely love Beck's cover of The Korgies Everyone's Gotta Learn Sometimes.

Thea Gilmore does good cover:

She's not averse to taking on the challenge of recording an entire album of unfinished songs written by Sandy Denny, either:

I've got the album, I've never heard this demo mix before, and it's lovely.

Another cover of a Sandy Denny song by Thea, which is on the same album, "Don't Stop Singing", but this predates it, a live version of Georgia.
I didn't know the back-story to this song, it's about Sandy's daughter Georgia, who was taken away from Sandy because she was in such a bad place, Sandy died not long after.

Surprised by the amount of shit music suggested on this thread. I am disappointed. Some good stuff there too amongst the crap I suppose

No DJ Koze suggested yet? He has some great remixes.
