For an emergency hangover busting brekkie I used to frequent Ken's Cabin Cafe, opposite the park in Hebden.
He still uses the original tea bag he bought in 1854 when the place opened.
£3.95 including tea/coffee and bread and butter/toast and usually a hair or two 'on the side'. You feel like having a bath when you leave. 😀
Have now started using the Viaduct Cafe in Tod - only £3.20, not floating in grease and clean surroundings. Miss the mindless vitriol and hatred directed at non-locals/foreigners that you get at Ken's, but at least I can keep the food down.
The one on Halifax Road in Tod opposite the Bead Shop is rank, and the cafe opposite the Watergate tearooms in Hebden is superb (try the carbonara), but doesn't do a full brekkie.
Morrisons mings and I try not to spend any money at Gordon Riggs if I can help it.
Any other recommendations?
