Who your favourite collaborators song or music??
Mine’s ‘Scale it Back’ DJ Shadow & Yukimi Nagano/Little Dragon. Massive fan of both and they n every way sound like they were made to work together. Should have been a huge hit IMO (obviously I’m biased). Who’re your top twosome (or howevermanysome)?
Other mentions:
Orb and Fripp (FFWD)
Holger Czukay and David Sylvian
Tom Jones + New Model Army + Mark Feltham doing The Rolling Stones’ Gimme Shelter
Also P J Harvey and Nick Cave:

David Byrne / Brian Eno
Bomb the Bass / Sinead O’Connor
Kylie / New Order

#thispartingusedtobeacountrylanenowitsamotorway
Before I forget:
Mr Jukes and and Charles Bradley. I make it out to be about the saddest happiest song ever since he died. It’s perfect though.
Never heard of any of them mind
Far more interesting to hear things you’re not familiar with innit?
^ DezB totally agree. Internet changing my earhole’s lives with new (to me) artists since circa 2k still always listening out 👍🏼
#audiogalaxytraveller
Has to be Dr John and The Meters for me. Funkiest thing to happen in the history of music.
I’ll do some more tomorrow then 🙂
If you are a psychobilly of a certain age 🙂
Nah, who am I kidding? This is my favourite
^ Yeah! Really liking Not Waving, is now looking like a late night Tidalfest
Dodgy Dave & The Knobtwiddler was a great call too. Another goodie from them:
Stretching the rules a bit, as it's a sample of Kate Bush, but...
it’s a sample
You need your own thread but if you are having that
Samples? Samples? We’re moments away from mashups, I shouldaknown. NOOOOOOOOO. Have already looked squint-eyed at the Kylie offering but let it slip. Which sounds all kinds of right. Wrong. I meant wrong.
Anyway here

We’re moments away from mashups I shouldaknown. NOOOOOOOOO
This is STW, nothing ever goes the way you want. I’m just searching YouTube for a Bohemian Rhapsody cover on a rusty trombone or some such brass. Not sorry.
Bjork and the Brodsky Quartet?
KLF and Tammy Wynette!
I just discovered after 30 years that it wasn’t Dolly Parton 🤦🏼♂️
KLF and Tammy Wynette!
Oh that takes me back
I just discovered after 30 years that it wasn’t Dolly Parton
There are a couple of big clues 👐

Is a guest vocalist the same as a collaboration? I could post 100s of them 😀
Moderat is Modeselektor and Apparat. I think this is my favourite collab ever of all time
Sisyphus was great - Sun Lux, Sufjan Stevens and Serengeti
Suuns, one of my fave bands, did a collab album with Jerusalem in MY Heart who I'd never heard of. Is good

Was going to post Run DMC and Aerosmith, but Mikkel beat me to it.
I'll go for another Tom Jones 'collab' instead:
You + Me
(Dallas Green and Pink)
Killer + the sound
(Phoebe Bridgers + Noah & Abby Gundersen)
Keep on rocking in the free world
(Neil Young + Pearl Jam)
Set the fire to the third bar
(Snow Patrol and Martha Wainright)
I really enjoy a good man/woman harmony.
Just remembered this one, thought the bloke was Peter Gabriel (from the chorus) when I first heard it on the radio.
Not claiming this is the best ever but it is a full on band (band duo) amalgamation Franz Ferdinand Sparks: FFS
camping it up just a little
jesus christ, dunno if youtube is on the blink or something but blimey wainwright's flat
Girl From The North Country with Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan. I love the album Hawk by Mark Lanegan and Isobel Campbell.

Very tasteful, that Doja Cat video 😆
Iggy one up there, reminded me - Karl and Brian
This was pretty bloody awesome too
which reminded me
The completely illogical team of Aesop Rock and Kimya Dawson from teh Moldy Peaches...
And one from a few years back, still gorgeous
Anything by Massive Attack gets my vote as a Bristol lad
But I quite like a bit a bit of bleak Scandi stuff
Johnossi, Anna Ternheim - Seventeen - Live
The completely illogical team of Aesop Rock and Kimya Dawson from teh Moldy Peaches
So brilliant!
and did you ever see the McAlmont and Butler they did on Later with Jools? You can properly hear the guitar playing, its wonderful. Prob on youtoob and worth a watch.
Aesop Rock does loads of collabs, eg, Lice (with Homeboy Sandman ), Hail Mary Mallon and Malibu Ken with Tobacco
+1 for Willie the Pimp.
Tori Amos and Leonard Cohen - Silent all these years.
Jennifer Warnes and Leonard Cohen - Joan of Arc
Nick Cave and Kylie - Wild Rose
Nick Cave and Kylie
Mercury and Caballe
Ink Duet
Mention of massive attack reminded me of this:
Spying glass with Horace Andy
Love that Mcalmont & Butler album. Saw Massive Attack in Cardiff & the guitarist (from my bloody valentine???) was INCREDIBLE on Angel.
How about Tupac and Biggie on the same track:
Absolutely LOVE this
DubFX Mr Woodnote
Just saw this and it seemed appropriate:

Rocky Dijon and the Rolling Stones (plus Ginger Baker and and and)
Bowie and Queen Under Pressure
Aside: I was teaching at Wandsworth Boys' School, early eighties. We were all called to the hall at lunchtime. I thought there might have been an act of extreme something or other (v possible at the time). Anyway, we all sat down and out came Ali Faka Toure and played on the school stage. F me I very nearly cried. He collaborated a lot, worth researching.
