The wife is going on a free trip to China with her school kids. Im wondering if its a good plce to pick up electronics, ipods, oakleys etc?
From what ive read i think its mostly knock off stuff.

I've got a friend who lives out there. He can't get any decent Gin, Tequila or Rum. I'm sure he would swap his shopping experience for alcohol

OK for cheap clothes eg North Face stuff, electrical stuff isn't any cheaper than Dabs or Ebuyer etc

Everyone stares (at westerners I mean, at least they did before the olympics), most people spit and smoke, the air will hurt your chest and throat, the food is much spicier than we get here, the traffic is bad bad bad.
