Even if a companies accounts are factored the invoices are usually generated by the company selling the goods and are still sent to the address on the invoice.
Deadly
The old business wasn't or isn't mine never has been. I was asked to work for them which I did for a while until as I said no contract or salary ever came my way so I left.
At the time I had my own little industrial unit I rented. I worked out of it on their behalf paying the bills (subbing I suppose)and invoicing them to 'the other company' I never saw this money either.
The other company for a while listed my address as the business address, which I removed when I found out.
It's like you working for Fords buying department then setting up youre own business and finding |Fords creditors coming after you.
It's so simple really nothing to do with me.
Um, why not just get your solicitor onto it? If you have already outlined their error to them and they have ignored you then this seems the logical route? Or is it just me..........

Do you have access to an acid bath? Its an idea - either hide inside it or use it to hide their bodies?
Hide your cash. Move your goods. They can take possession of as much fresh air as they like...
Dress like brave Heart. Skirt and make up, Scream war cry as they come through the door and let god decide who the victor should be!!

Sorry, i forgot where i was for a second there.......
I can't believe there's been no advice to own 'em with a set of bombers or mention of footwear urination...
Given the responses I'm not entirely sure if your post is a joke or genuine. If it helps I do recall as a student a friend had their stuff cleared out by a balif due to a previous tenants debts.
She got the stuff back eventually but she made the mistake of opening the door and they shoved their foot in the door, just came in a took her stuff.
I doubt the police will be giving you a great amount of advice, it sounds more like you should be speaking to the CAB re your rights and explaining the situation, and what to do next.
I've been to the police and I've been given a contact number, though if it was to get out of hand have 999 in my mobile ready to go.
Spoke to companies house for the record.
Now I'm getting grief from the outfit that I was working for i.e the ones that do owe the money.
I'll steer well away from dealing with 'foreign' businesses again.
Rock ---- oldgit ---- hardplace
Put a nice big price tag on everything that moves, take photos, and send a copy to your solicitor.
When they come round, video yourself reading out your "you've got the wrong firm, and everything you remove will be invoiced per the price label" speech off a piece of paper and then send them a bill for everything they take.
+1 for locking the door and going to the pub.
Why are you on here asking us, instead of a) police, b) solicitor or c) CAB?
fadda
Just spouting off. I could speak to a solicitor and they'd just say the same, that they can't do anything by law. Wont stop them coming round though will it.
i is a solicitor , i think you should see one quick and get a letter sent over setting out your position :-
A)the debt is nothing to do with you.
B)the old company are now nothing to do with you or your address
C)there is no property belonging to the old company at your address
D)any further demands or visits will be reported to the police as blackmail and harrasment and will result in both civil and criminal actions.
this May not stop them but will in any event put you in a strong position . Do not allow them or bailiffs access to the property unless they have a warrent to gain access which in the circumstances as you describe they won't have.
Legal advice as above and letter likly to cost you circa £140
Well not had any replies back.
I tracked down the company that does owe the money and had a word. They're in trouble. He did confirm that the company chasing money is factored and insured against loss, which makes it doubley odd that they've contacted me? seriously trying it on I think, perhaps they're in trouble.
Now back to bikes and porn 🙂
Oooh I'm all a bit concerned because they're not here yet, anything could have happened to them they might be squashed or mangled somewhere 😆
hope it sorts itself in your favor oldgit
You cant take peoples stuff in respect of debt without a court order that you actually owe the money. Baliffs cannot just walk in without a court order.
Well I got fed up with waiting, so I called them back to see when we could sort it. I didn't get an answer, but later I did get a mail.
quote 'I've got a horrible throat infection at the mo so I'm at home, will probably call next week'
Is there a word for pedaling backwards?
lol, offer some throat lozenges as payment?
pah . . . . James Cameron could have written a better ending! 😉
It's not over yet Whathaveisaidnow, I'm going on the attack Grrrrr.
oldgitIs there a word for pedaling backwards?
Yes, "[s]Backpedalling[/s] Tergiversate"
oh its irony, now I get it 😀
lol !
"Sorry Jonny can't come round to k*ck the sh*t out of you, he's not feeling very well. Hopes to make it next week. Love and kisses."
