Hi,

I am looking for a new bed for my daughter and want one of those ones with a "trundle" bed underneath for her friends to use during sleepovers.

Having seen very poor reviews for stores such as Dreams and Bensons for Beds I am reluctant to use them.

Can anyone recommend a quality supplier? - based in Cheltenham

fotheringtonthomas would love a trip to Scotland but unfortunately not really practical at the moment. Can you recommend any decent brands of beds and mattresses (and also ones to avoid).

To the others are the Ikea beds any good? - they look a bit cheap (and nasty?) to me.

Whatever you do...avoid Dreams. Not only because of their terrible service, crap beds and conveniently forgetful staff but because every hold song on their customer service line include the word dream. Torture fired straight into the ear for nearly 6 months. John Lewis on the other hand was a far more pleasant experience

I love Ikea mattresses. I find them much better than anything I've tried for anything like the same money.

But I don't have any experience of the beds themselves as I've either got one from Habitat or made my own.

Anything made from solid wood in Ikea is usually very good.

The real trick is secondhand Ikea stuff on ebay or gumtree.
