OP have you ever made a complaint to the bbc or any other broadcaster before??

I've always wondered who these people are. I'm not surprised to see its STW users.

you do know that fairy lights are like 12v and not running at mains voltage, yes?

I thought this too but some cheaper and nastier versions just have lots of LEDs in series. Don't go chewing the cables just yet... 😀

It's obviously a sore topic for him. Let it be.

Drac, was going to post that but got distracted by pillow talk...

And I have once in my life made a compliant about an advert once in my life. The advert for The Mechanic with Jason Stratsface was massively inappropriate, shown just after the 9pm watershed and contained a point blank headshot.  Funnily enough about three months afterwards OFCOM agreed and it got slapped down, however I suspect it was too late by then. Bit pointless, probably won't bother again, but then again I hardly see any adverts since streaming became mainstream...

Auntie will probably point out, in a clipped voice, that ‘we don’t run <shudder> adverts at the BBC. I think you mean trails, or what the rest of trashy-telly call promos’.

As a small child my brother decided to eat the mains powered fairy lights on the christmas tree.

The fairy lights (except for the bulbs he ate) kept working. He was not electrocuted, and was absolutely fine. The doctor at the hospital, said it is ok to eat glass as long as you chew it up properly.

Based on a study of n=1, eating fairy lights is a low risk activity.

Also based on a study of n=1. Putting your finger in the mouth of a child who is trying to eat fairy lights and has a mouth full of glass is dangerous, and result in injury to the finger.

That's the best advice ever from a doctor 😊

One of the strangest and most impressive insults I've ever heard was a tersely muttered 'I hope you find glass in your shit'

Wait, the OP was serious? I assumed it was a poor attempt at a joke, a la Viz letterbocks.

Christ alive.
