Right, first of all, no, IANAP(lumber) but I'm a great believer in DIY and learning new skills...
I'm moving our bathroom to another room, all inlet pipework etc sorted, and we've purchased a new, freestanding bath. It's going on a first floor bathroom, access to the floorboards is fine. Although there are pipes directly below the plughole (but these can be moved)

I'm having a bit of trouble sorting out the waste/trap. The plug cutout is 100mm to floor. Upon suggestion from the retailer, I've got a plug like this. I imagine any experienced plumbers who weren't already eye rolling, are doing so now. That leaves very little room for a waste.
Instructions that came with the bath make the inference that you just use any waste, attach a flexi to it, and then stick the trap in the floor. That all seems a bit squiffy, and I can't really find a suitable flexi. Plus I want to avoid flexis if possible!
I don't think I can use the waste I've purchased, as the overflow connection pushes it quite far down, so really no room to connect a trap without chopping the boards below, which I'm keen to avoid!
The only slimline waste/trap combos I can find are like this: https://www.screwfix.com/p/mcalpine-bottle-bath-trap-white-40mm/21158 which I guess may fit, but it's complicated by the fact that the support bar runs behind the plughole...
Anyone done anything like this before that can offer some advice? I've managed everything OK so far to an 'acceptable' standard, but I'm almost at the point of calling a plumber.
Would a Hepvo work? I used one for our bath as there wasn’t much space for a “conventional” trap.
It could well do, thanks! I had never heard of these! Any idea what the lifespan is?
I've also just found a load of flexis... facepalm...
