Any online retailers? I'm after a good quality suite that is reduced/end of line etc. Ideally not ebay as its a minefield (and I'd want to comeback if there was an issue once fitted).

Try local independent retail stores - we've been looking recently and the local indie place had lots of nice stuff as ex-display.

B&Q used to do decent cheap suites, got one from there for our last house and it did us for the 6-7 years we were there.

I've had a cheap suite from B and Q before and it was pretty good. Tarted it up with some nicer taps and a different toilet seat and it looked fine.

Go have a look at Atlas Bathrooms in Huddersfield, my mate uses them for his house renovation business.

Pop to Wheelspin while you're there 🙂

Can't be B&Q. Its not allowed. I've been into Atlas here in Manchester and its all full price stuff. Years ago we had one fitted from a local merchants closing auction.

We used Victoria Plumb last time: 2 toilets, 2 wash basins and a bath with shower screen. Quality of the bath was great, quality of the toilets was pretty good. Wash basins were crap but I opened them too late to send back, so we 'made do'.

Therefore my advice is if you use an online retailer, make sure you open the boxes and take a proper look while you still have time to reject them.

I was recommended tubs and loos - think Cheadle or Poynton way. Not yet used them though

Obvious but the Bath Store often has sales/discounted stuff in store. Used their Huddersfield branch when we did our ensuite and they were pretty good to deal with and everything is still spot on 5 years down the line...

I don't know why you'd be reluctant to use ebay I got most of my kitchen there and saved a fortune. If it has to be retail try Wickes 40% sale on at the moment.

Has to be retail rather than ebay. Funnily I picked up my boiler on ebay (but listed by a localish plumbers merchants in Horwich).

Pretty sure our bathroom suite came from Bathstore, wasn't expensive and has lasted well.

Whats the logic there? if its the right price the right style and you can take it back whats the problem?

im a plumber and for customers wanting quality without the price tag I always recommend they go to there local merchants and pick up a FRONTLINE catalogue !
the stuff they sell is excellent quality for the money !
and I happen to know for a fact that your local merchants can knock as much as 25 percent off the frontline prices if they order it for you and still make a profit ! 😉
beware of BnQ or wickes or similar, quality tends to be rubbish in my experience, when ever I get a customer who has purchased a said suite I always tell them to expect something to break and something usually does,, maybe not the porcelain or taps ect, but usually one of the cheap waste kits or toilet cistern fittings !
heres a link to frontline !
