I use some speakers like these + an the old version of this Airport router + a cheap bluetooth-enabled stereo.

I have the stereo in a cupboard outside the bathroom and extended its IR receiver to 'peep' into the bathroom through a small aperture in the door frame. This lets you control the volume and device selection. It is the worst designed remote I have ever had. Cables run from the stereo to the ceiling-mounted speakers. The audio out from the Airport router goes to 2 stereos. 1 for each bathroom.

Works for Apple devices nicely via AirPlay. Also works for Bluetooth devices. And has DAB for Radio 4.

Depending on how involved you want the system ANC if you're really bothered about top end sound, whilst in thd shower. There are mirrors with built in Bluetooth speakers that avoid and cutting and fitting. (As long as power is available? Shaver light/docket thingy?)
My parents have fitted one when doing their bathroom and streaming from phone is easy.

We got something cheap from Lidl; bluetooth, waterproof and sticks to the tiles. It's not in the stores currently but I don't know if they'd have it on their website.

The round ones? I've got one of those from ebay, they're cheap and decent.

My girls just take their Bluetooth speaker into the bathroom when they're having a shower.

I've got a Jam 'Heavy Metal' in the bathroom. Doesn't mind getting wet and is loud enough to be heard over the shower. (Ironically, it never plays any heavy metal 🙂 )
