Hi Guys

Anyone on here live out that way?

Me and the wife are heading to Ballater for a week from tomorrow.

Is there any point taking the bikes or is there too much snow to make it worth the effort?

Thanks

Rich

Where are you planning to ride?

There is bit of a thaw on but there will be plenty snow on the hill still.

Have a look at the ski web cam for lecht that will give you an idea.

I've seen quite a few natural circuits online starting in an around Ballater such as the Green Mile and the North Ballater loop.

Some stuff in Banchory too I believe

Could go a wee bit further afield to Fochabers as well.

Not planning to try and ride at the Lecht or anything really high!

Just want to know if there is loads of snow at the mo!

Routes mentioned are quite high so will be covered in snow.

Ballater to fok a bears is not the best.

Scolty would be your best bet, but there will still be snow/ice on the trails.

Am I the only one who looked at the title and saw balleater?

It sounded like a much more interesting thread

Thanks Bruneep

Sounds like we'd be better off with skis.

Might give the bikes a miss then and find a few more distilleries instead
