i want to hire a car when i get to my destination. i'm travelling with 3 others.
in the BA website i put that i wanted the car for 4 people (for this is how many are travelling). i was then told it would cost £180+ per person...
i presume if i put 1 person a) i will be the only one able to drive b) i will still be able to take my friends in the car.
correct?
i've never hired a car before!

Best to hire via someone like expedia normally.
It is usually presumed that the person hiring the vehicle is to be the only one driving it unless you ask for others to be added to the policy. No problems carrying passengers in the car.
This can vary by country as well so check the local T and Cs
