[Closed] Ayr - where to stay?

Carrick Lodge is nice and quite reasonable.

I'd avoid any hotels, except peterfiles suggestion, and go for a bed and breakfast. There's a bed and breakfast in prestwick called the hollies that I always think looks really nice, but as it's about 200 metres from my house, I'll never know!.

I'd stay in prestwick tbh, as it's easier to get in and out of, and there's a better concentration of pubs/eateries etc and the beach is 2 minutes down the road. Email in profile if your bringing a bike and fancy a spin!.

Oh, and it's Glasgow fair, so Ayr will be rammed with nitwits coming 'doon the watter' especially with is weather!.

Having served my time in Ayr I'd say Prestwick, definitely Prestwick. May be a tad harsh but Ayr is scummy, and I've never seen so many dog eggs in one place as in Ayr town centre. Simply grim.
