Oscar Isaac is channeling his inner Dick Van Dyke in the upcoming Moon Knight series. With added Kevin Bacon!! I'm excited!!!

I see one of the lead actors in that - Gaspard Ulliel - has just tragically died skiing in France. Very sad.

In La Rosiere as well, which is a very tame resort - mainly full of beginners and families.

It's also Ethan Hawke, not Kevin Bacon. But channeling his inner Kevin Bacon, obviously

In true Marvel fashion, I imagine most of that is from the first episode.

Marc Spector clearly doesn't know he's Marc Spector and is living as one of his other personalities.

Once he's been to Egypt and worked out he's Moon Knight, I guess he'll be off to New York and back to an accent that'd be bearable for more than just a few seconds at a time.

Looking forward to this nonetheless.

Doesn’t sound that atrocious to my ears, and certainly not as farcical as Don Cheadle’s in Ocean’s 11.

I sometimes wonder if Bendict Cumberbatch's accent as Doctor Strange was his way of redressing the balance

Watched the first episode, it'll be a decent series, good actors, half decent plot material and a budget, downside is that Disney+ are eeking the 1 episode a week thing, and the first episode was basically all about setting the whole thing up, with the final 30 seconds being the audience cheering bit, it really cried out for 2 episodes to be released.

As for the accents, i did get that Dick Van Dyke feel, but i think Oscar Isaacs was going for it, he can and has done accents more to task, but the character he's doing at the start is pretty exaggerated.

I have a stack of 80's & 90's Moon Knight comics and I still can't beleive the character has become widely known. I was hoping I wouldn't be dissapointed and I really liked the first episode.

The Comic Steven Grant character is a little too close to Bruce Wayne so they decided to change it, there was a hint that Frenchie may appear, but I think a Mooncopter might be pushing it too much at the moment.

So what did we think?

Right ok.

General plot becomes obvious within the first episode, after that the plot becomes a bit disjointed, like they've explained it and that's all we need to know.

The first episode was pretty good,. Oscar Issac made it interesting, as the confused protagonist, jumping between the two characters of the role.

After this the dialogue becomes disjointed and difficult to follow to the point you ignore it and your viewing moves on like this.

Mumble mumble. Bit of action. More mumbling, ooh good, some more action.

No offence, but its the standard Marvel set up.
