Phoned them this morning about a problem on my nexus 7 and on the surface they seem OK buy what are they like once the ball is rolling.? I am not expecting Hope levels of service but I am more than aware of how bad some of the big companies can be. Anyone had dealings with them.?

About 3 years ago I helped a friend out with a PC problem, needed to go back to Asus for a motherboard replacement in the end and they dealt with it quickly and hassle-free. No idea what they're like these days/with tablets though. Shouldn't it be going back to the retailer though?

Not according to my retailer. Asus are happy to deal with it and anything that cuts very.co.uk out of the process is a good thing.

If you're doing it by choice then that's fine. Your retailer is wrong, though. It may well be best to deal with Asus directly and cut out the middle man, but it's the retailer who is legally, contractually obliged to resolve any issues.

What's up with it, out of interest?

The speaker is distorted when the volume is up full.

Don't all speakers do that? (-:

I wasn't being entirely serious. "My speakers distort when it's too loud" - "turn it down, then."
