I'm definitely bored, but not that bored.

Although I do have to admire the work and skill that goes into such a thing.

My alternative task is creating health and safety slideshows for people who aren't interested so I'm easily distracted.

Obviously I'm now transfixed and want to know everything about it.

What is the line made of and how much does it weigh? How did they get the ends in position and how did they tension it? What is it attached to? They said he started at 265m height, that's massive.

I want to know if they built that pylon especially for this. If so, seems....excessive.

I know what your particular interest is (apparently you do get Great Whites in the Strait of Messina), but I'm sure he has multiple issues if his safety line fails.

Are you bringing some power tools? I need a reciprocating saw for a job I'm doing.

Oi, that's my tag line!

Doesn't matter though, I can't walk 3.5km without a stick anyway, sp can't have been me 🙂

Missed the 'on live now' bit thinking I could just open the vid and have a scan through.

Turns out it is actually live and I'm kinda hooked.

I appreciated the little 'facts about the slackline' interlude which showed them installing the line at one end and carrying the other across with a helicopter. Then winding it up with a giant motorised corkscrew.

Say what you like about Red Bull but I'm glad someone is willing to put this much money and work into such pointless endeavours just for the craic.

He did well to get that close to the end! Proper steep in those last bits.

Did he do it without falling?

Nope. He fell off on the steep climb to the finish. He stopped to enjoy the view then had another wobble and a rest a few minutes later.

He was up there for 3 hours so fair play.

Looks like it. I had to pop out for a wee at about the 3 hr 10 minute mark but got back in time to see him finish.

I was most interested in the pylons and had to Google them.
