Is there an app for an android phone which will allow to save the data and post it to say Google Earth for studying on a PC when you get home?
I know Google Earth will take a Garmin file and display the breadcrumb trail as an overlay on Earth it's self. So you can study your day out. But is there an APP for androids to save a file when in GPS mode on a phone.
I think you can do this with an app called "my tracks"
Yep mytracks, save the route then export it to the SD card as a .gpx file, which you can then upload to your PC etc.
I use it all the time for Strava as it doesnt eat into my data allowance.
I've not tried it with Google Earth, but I think it's simpler than that. Once you've logged it with My Tracks just hit 'Send to Google'. Then you can, I think, pick it up from your account directly from within Google. No exporting, saving, uploading, anything.
I think.
Record the route with mytracks. Go to the tracks section, select and hold the route > play.
*edit* if you want you can export the route as .gpx or.kml for use with Google earth as well.
Its a bit lumpy using google earth via the phone, but yes play will do it.
