I was hoping for animal suggestions! Next door has a toddler, might ask if it's borrowable. Added bonus would be their cat would no longer want to hide in my drive.
Antlions, obviously. Bears too.
Polar bears. That’s why you never see any ants north of the arctic circle. They’re quite partial to kangaroos too which is why they are similarly scarce.

My dyson seemed to do quite well gobbling them up. Was even better when I gaffer taped an old camelbak tube to it and pushed it into the nest. They little blighters still came back though, so I dug out the soil beneath the kitchen and dumped 1000kg of concrete under there instead. That taught ‘em!
If you need to get rid of ants, you need to go full stw!
Coffee grounds.
We have had ants nest in one of our veg beds for years. Nothing would stop them. Always the same bed.
We grow organically.we got desperate and used ant powder but they came back.
We then started to put coffee grounds into the beds where the nest is. No more ants.
They did move along a bit so we put more in and they haven't been back.
We used to put the grounds in the compost but they now go straight on the beds.
Sorted.
Chickens. Ours love an earth mound of an ants nest to snack on.

There'll be no coffee from these grounds, would tea leaves work? Hadn't thought of the kettle, might give that a go, or go woodpecker hunting. Thanks for the tips people.

If the nest is on hard ground, then a big pan of boiling soapy water will get rid of it.
I've got ants in my compost heap, cant decide if it's a good or a bad thing as it's certainly composting quickly at the moment. Wonder if a coffee shop would donate a few bins of the spent grounds?
Try your local Waitrose for all your coffee ground needs and save the teabagging for the privacy of your Audi!

but if you pour petrol down the anthole, wait 3or4 minutes,throw a match down,I guess roasted would do nicely
I suspect you'd asphyxiate them, and maybe the heat would penetrate the ground a bit, but the lack of air would prevent the actual nest catching fire.
Also, do not try and ignite petrol you've just poured on the ground. If a litre of the stuff can move a ton and a bit of your car 10miles with fairly poor efficiency, just imagine how far it'll disperse the flaming bits of you!
If you want to set fire to something use diesel.
