Has anyone camped at Aosta? Heading through there this summer and aim to stop for a few days. Any top tips?
HAvent camped there other than in teh car park but the local robo cops werent too happy, second night we camped by a church about a Mile down a forest track, that was ace

Well worth a spin up the Valsavarenche Valley and Gran Paradiso National Park, wild, "sauvage", lots of ibex and stuff, there's a nice campsite half way up.
I've camped there quite a few times, the last time being 8 years ago. love the place I do. It has good facilities incl pool, cafe, bar, good tree cover and last time I was there, a young lady on reception who wore thin white silk shirts and no bra. I spent a lot of time in reception. there's a reasonable small supermarket down the road.
We didn't discover any decent bars in walking distance, generally preferred to buy cold beers from the campsite bar and take them back to the tent.

It is incredible, was there last summer and (name drop alert) a certain Gee Atherton was there. I was heading back down the full descent from Pila and thought I was going well only to get to the bottom and he and all his mates are sat in the team bus eating takeaway pizza. At least they hadn't finished it and moved onto the ice cream.
Yeah the run down to aosta is ace, 45 min in a group or about 20-25 min flat out with no stops. Do it from the very top lift, 2 up from Pila, and its an epic descent!
