I've only seen two.

The Dell Streak is lovely and I really want one, looks like it could finally be a replacement for my long lost love, the Psion 5. Sadly it's still languishing on Android 1.6 with Froyo "soon" (or at least, was last time I looked). This doesn't fill me with confidence.

The other is the Samsung Galaxy Tab, and from bitter experience "Samsung" and "Android" aren't two words you want in the same sentence.

It pains me to say it as an Android advocate, but I'd personally avoid both of these devices.

The Streak is on 2.1 at the moment, shortly to get 2.2.

As for Samsung, 2 months ago I might have agreed - but Froyo on the Galaxy S is a delight. I expect the Galaxy Tab to be similarly good as the latest firmware on the S.

Ah ok, I've not looked for a bit. 2.3 is imminent, so hopefully they'll get 2.2 out in time to be current for a few days.

Have they fixed the lagging and got the GPS working on the Galaxy S yet, or are Samsung still promising "improvements" soon?

If it gets updated at all then I expect the Galaxy Tab to get updates months after every other device, and then dropped like a ginger-haired stepson as soon as the Tab 2 hits beta. But then I'm somewhat bitter after the Galaxy (i7500).

The Tegra looks interesting. For me personally, it's too big (and there's a lot of wasted space on the screen surround), but it looks decent enough.

I'm pretty confident that they are. I'm less convinced that they're the shape of things now. We live in interesting times.

Heh heh, yeah I hope that's not the case. GPS is fixed on mine. Lag is fixed to the point where I do not bother installing OCLF from the market to improve it any further. It is good enough.

I bought a streak to use as a phone, for which it was too big, but having said that if it was a 'tablet' I was after I would want a bigger screen than 5".
