Being pissed just suppresses the filter we put up to stop people seeing who we really are. Not a pretty sight in this case.

I don't get the reference to donating to the White Helmets?

Mr Peacock told The Independent he deleted the post as soon as he became aware of its potential for offence and that he offered an โ€œunreserved apologyโ€.

"I shouldnโ€™t have used those words or that language," he said.

"What I should have explained was that there was no way I would donate to the White Helmets.

Is he still pissed?

The Councillor's comments were made with reference to donating to the charities in dedication of Jo Cox' memory. One of the three chosen charities is the White Helmets, which is a humanitarian effort operating within Syria. Distasteful doesn't come close.

Perhaps we could have a referendum to decide on expulsion.

One of the three chosen charities is the White Helmets, which is a humanitarian effort operating within Syria.

It's a civil defence project too who's non-political status has been challenged and funding questioned:

That all said, yes - ultimately it is a humanitarian effort operating within Syria, which would explain why Jo Cox's husband wishes to raise funds for them.
