I'll be riding dapper at the Guildford DGR - anyone else?

Yes! Chester. Weather isn't looking too kind. It's what I borrowed the jacket for in the identify my button thread.

For anyone puzzled by the TLA, it's this charity motorbike ride.

If you see a ruck of old blokes cosplaying Peaky Blinders tomorrow, it'll be that.

Joined in at Oxford last year, but it was a disappointing ride, would have joined the Tring ride but was oversubscribed. Bike got Instagrammed by the dukeofblonde

Yep, zero miles, picked it up and hour ago. Might manage one ride this afternoon. This is the replacement for the knackered Honda.

Well that was fun! I wasn't at the main Chester ride in the end, I didn't realise but my cousins husband organises a small unofficial ride with food and scrambler racing around his field after. Profits still go to the charity though, so nobody loses out.

Some nice bikes there, this RD350 wasn't enjoying the party pace but accelerated like stink when opened up. 😁

Nice - I only got to ride one once bitd, one of my mates had a mildly tuned one & I'd only ever ridden smaller 4 stroke singles, was a bit of an eye opener when the power band hit in 3rd

Just back after doing a 400 mile couple of days on the Bonneville with the Guildford DGR sandwiched in the middle.

My first DGR and though it was well organized there were just far too many bikes (1300!) for it to be properly safe, which wasn't helped by a marshal stacking it in the first 30 seconds meaning we were all sitting around for even longer whilst they attended to him. Plus who thought that having no coffee at the mid ride stop was a good idea!!!

The end ride stop (Hogs back Brewery) was everything I hate - crowds, overpriced beer in warm cups and horrible looking food that you needed to queue up for tokens before queuing for the actual food and beer.

On the plus side there were plenty of VERY nice bikes to gawp at so I did that for 30 minutes then rode off to Dorset to see my parents, getting soaked in the process as riding dapper doesn't keep you dry.

I think if I did this again I'd seek out a smaller ride
