It's that time of year again. Can Dougie Lampkin (Pumpkin as my Mrs calls him) perform again or can Dabill pull it off?
Can't wait me.

Well I can wait. I live here and they are pretty disrespectful to other users. I've been showered in gravel, cut up, been passed with zero deceleration on barely wide enough doubletrack.

It a shame I've got to this viewpoint via my experiences, because as you might expect I am inclined towards two wheeled anything. I was brought up on Northern Irish road racing, and had a schoolboy scrambler in primary school etc.

They are a mob in the forest and hills for the week, and those following on motor bike are often worse (and ignoring the SOAC).

Hmm...interesting. Any following I've done has been on the MTB, usually to out of the way sections, Loch Shiel, Bradileig (Lairig Leachach area), Glengarry forest area, Loch Eilde, plus a few more. I've never been cut up, covered with gravel or even passed closely. There are strict rules about speeding in Leanachan Forest & if any marshal sees any competitor speeding (hard to prove mind as they don't carry speed cameras) the rider can be disqualified or get a rollocking. Following on offroad motorcycles is strictly forbidden except by officials & permitted press riders.
Iv'e been following the trial since 1975 & only heard a very few complaints, if things were as bad as you make out then landowners would soon withdraw permission to use the estates.
Anyway, might see you there!
