Anyone make their own camping meals to rehydrate?

Normally I enjoy a bit of camp cooking (I'm free!) but sometimes I would rather travel as light as possible and not have to think about much washing up beyond wiping my spork down on my jeans.

I've got a Jetboil stove and ideally would never put actual food into it. Just boil water.

I've seen quite a few YouTubes of people who make their own dehydrated meals to rehydrate when camping, but these mostly involve having a dehydrating gadget.

The off the shelf meals of this type can be crazy expensive and often have mixed reviews.

Just wondered if anyone put things together themselves maybe with off the shelf dehydrated stuff and what sort of meals do you do?

Normally I've just done pasta packets when I'm going very simple, but even those need to simmer in a pot.

Any recipes?

Vegetarian better, or at least something you can leave meat out of or substitute with something veggie.

I tend to eat real food. We've friends who just take dehydrated food (out of the packet) but I'd rather cook it. You can always call in a shop and pick something up before you hit camp if you are travelling light. It's probably more of an issue de-hydrating food yourself.

I use some dehydrated ingredients from Tentmeals. I put a link at the bottom of this blog post two weeks ago. The peas and peppers work in a pot cosy context.

I'm tempted to do so but I actually quite like some of the dehydrated options (particularly Firepot), though I'm also more likely to eat dinner at a pub etc.

I do make my own breakfast though, kept in Pour'n'store  bags so I can just add hot water and let it cook while waiting for coffee.

Porridge - 60g / 226 kcal

Nuts - 20g / 131 kcal

Dried fruit - 40g / 120 kcal

Milk powder - 15g / 50 kcal

Totals 135g / 527 kcal

I whizz it all up in a food processor so that the porridge rehydrates faster. I have a silver bubble wrap envelope big enough for the P'n'S bag to go in to keep it all warm.
