Could be the fuel solenoid, but that does not sound healthy. Should be whizz, click, pop

Our V70 makes a similar noise. Ours seems to be the oil breather system, the garage said they've heard a few and not to bother...

Generally with EGR’s clean it with a new one. Double check with TrailRat though - he’s the resident PSA expert!

24 motorway miles this morning and no noise when we stopped, maybe because yesterday it was a short 2 mile journey?
It's done 89k miles, and is 8 years old, what should i be looking at changing? Water pump/timing belt?

Hard to tell but could it ne air running into the brake servo vacvuum
Engines runming so vacuum pump generating vacuum, engine off air sucked in to the vacuum through a split sounding like s 40 a day asthmatic donkey
