Thinking of getting one - looks like a good mtb/camping/lugging stuff around car.
Anyone got one here?
They're common here in the French Alps, and I've looked a bit at them myself. They're quite big really - which kinda put me off, if I'm honest. If you need the space they do seem quite practical.

The name is more than enough to put me off - I think like a lot of modern cars they are like a reverse TARDIS - massive on the outside, tiny on the inside.
Seems like an odd choice over a jogger for your use case?

Whilst that is true for many SUVs, I don't think you can level that criticism at the Bigster (yes it is a stupid name). Its quite narrow (narrower than a Skoda Superb for instance) yet has 680L of boot space with seats up and almost 2000L with them down. Its also a box shape so its useful space.
I don't like the looks of the Jogger, don't need the 7 seats and like the ground clearance and rugged suspension of the Bigster for the occasional forays offroad I do and more importantly the pot holed country lanes I drive all the time.
The Berlingo doesn't have a decent engine/gearbox choice - I want an auto full hybrid not a highly stressed crappy three cylinder manual petrol or any kind of diesel.

It looks a good car. Gives you what you need. I looked at the Jogger before I opted for a Vivaro Life (van). Folks have had a Stepway for years and it's been spot on - just check on engines offered and any issues in the specific group engine, and bear that in mind. That's what I did with my Vivaro - went for the big 2.0 auto, well proven engine from the group.
The Bigster just looks practical.
A friend of mine has one, and loves it as he lives up a steep rough track in the highlands. Three kids, lots of stuff and does it all in winter with all weather tyres. I drove its little sibling in Iceland for a week and was suitably impressed with overall manners. Apart from the electrical gremlins which seemed to be present on the high mileage car I had.

To be fair, the gravel roads in Iceland give hire cars an absolute battering. It’s impressive enough that nothing had fallen off it!

Went for a walk today and saw a Volvo, maybe a V70. With the lights up the rear column, no bulge.
What an awesome looking motor.
Mate has the predecessor. That shape is the perfect estate. Better than many vans.
