Just having a cuppa and as usual, it's in my favourite mug. Got it free from the dealership when I bought my Impreza back in 1999. Have used it every day since apart from holidays. Will be gutted when it breaks. Is it just my ocd or anyone else got a faithful mug and if so, why?
looks like this
Cos it was bought for me by someone nice, it's big and fits one of those silicon lids so the tea stays hot.
The Mrs picked up a big, 500ml Starbucks "Central Park"mug from a charity shop about 10 years ago.
It's my favorite and nearly always my daily driver, unless the dishwasher hasn't been on.
Like this one.
My favourite is a big Starbucks one too, which I stole from a Starbucks outside Chesterfield
It's the perfect size - big enough to hold a proper drink, but no so big it's got cold by the time you're two thirds through (Mike Trashley XL Sports Direct mug, I'm looking at you...).
Back in the days where I hosted roleplaying game sessions, I got sick of washing up a hundred mugs at the end of the night so I had everyone provide their own mug and took the rest to charity. You want a brew, you rinse out the one you're using.
Fast-forward to today, I have "my" mug. Then every birthday/christmas/easter someone gives us a "world's greatest mum" mug or some such and we've got a hundred of the $%^&ing things again.
This one, used multiple times daily for about 16/17 years.
Mine is a Mr Bump mug, standard size.
Got a large collection of Dyfi Enduro mugs. Can't imagine ever buying a mug to be honest, we have too many.
I should say the mug with my first born's footprint on. But the stw mug I have is pretty bloody good (per desperate's post above).
Even if I did end up having to pay for postage on it :bitter:
My Singletrack Lockdown 2020 mug. Its so good, I bought two for a bit of tea drinking fault tolerance.
At work I have one specific mug for black tea, one for green tea, one for coffee and one for lemon and ginger tea. You can't drink different drinks from the same mug!!!
my Brighton big dog 2010 race mug.
the later year mugs i bought were slightly differnt shape and mug wall thinkness and not so nice to drink from. this one is great. i`ll be sad if it gets broken.
My old STW mug, now stripped of lettering by the dishwasher, but still getting envious looks in the office.
This is mine - I'd really like the Kathy Burke one about being Woke (caution, naughty language) to replace it if this one breaks.
The mother inlaw bought this back from Florida over twenty years ago, and still my favourite work mug
It's Dopey and she meant to get Grumpy
Then when we went to Florida with the kids I bought one of these, the lid has long gone but it lives in my kit bag
And for camping I have an enamel mug with a swiss mountain scene, which if anyone else uses I get a little annoyed
I've got one of these.
I have four, all the same size, optimal for tea, all bone china, with different designs. I have a cupboard of bone china mugs of varying sizes and designs. Also a few more conventional mugs, and pottery. But these are my favourites.
Mugs imo have to be the correct colour and material
I have a cool personalized mug given as a gift, buts it's navy blue and for some reason just ruins a drink. It just does
I have a strathpuffer mug too, it's lovely but horrible to drink out of. Some sort of fired hipster clay
My favorite is probably my ' Peoples Republic of Leith' mug. Reminder of a previous life, a bit battered, but tea tastes perfect. Underneath it's just a common or garden white mug
The whole collection of Brighton Big Dog mugs!
*Edit - no idea why that won't post. But there's a very nice cup of tea in it right now.
Mine is a Nescafé red mug. It's the right size and it amuses me to drink good quality coffee out of it.
I have three.
A morning coffee mug.
A tea mug (that's general for tea and can be used at any time)
An afternoon coffee mug (one of the STW "not jumpy, not grumpy" pint mugs).
There are other mugs in my cupboard, they don't get a look in.
The three main mugs are not interchangeable.
If I had to use the afternoon coffee mug in the morning, that'd be a fairly serious upset for the rest of the day.
Yes, I'm weird. I don't care that you're judging me.
My mug, bought from Grange in Samoens. I just like it!
My work mug. The shift at my last place of work got it for me, can’t think why…

And no it doesn’t need cleaning out, it adds to the flavour ? 😉
Got a soup mug when I started working at my current company. It was the only spare in the office so I purloined it.
That was 33 years ago. Its still going strong. with 3 -4 cups of green tea a day.
Footie mug that must be close to 20 years old & has lost most of the image on it.
Also quite attached to the Chris King coffee cup I got around the turn of the century.
Sill can't upload photos for some reason.
My go to mug for years now has been my classic orange Le Creuset mug. Feels nice and weighty, like i'm getting a workout to go with my brew.
Though i now also have a new mug on its way thanks to TiReds link to Arthouse Unlimited, along with some other treats to help support a great cause. Thanks @TiRed
We have loads of cups/mugs, but I typically only switch between three, my fave being "I'd rather be cycling" mug.
For my pre-bedtime cup of herbal tea I have to use my Wildlife Trust mushrooms mug

Yes, I am aware what a pretentious throbber that makes me sound.
I have different ones for coffee and tea. The material the mug is made from can really affect the taste of the beverage in my opinion.
HebTroCo Don’t be a dick mug for tea
A pastel blue and white mug with a picture of a teddy bear on it for coffee.
Yes, and like @crazy-legs I have specific mugs for specific times of the day. Big glass IKEA mug for my morning litre of tea, Porsche 2.7RS mug for afternoon tea or occasional late morning coffee - it's perfect for this as it's got a green band on the inside so I can always get the aeropress coffee to milk ratio bang on - and a big Starbucks mug liberated from some Starbucks somewhere for my evening tea. I used to have a few of them, as I figured I'd paid for them anyway from my share of their tax avoidance.
Got backup mugs for the evening times, but couldn't drink evening tea out of the morning mug or vise versa, so always have to make sure the dishwasher goes on every evening.
This bad boy. It's insulated so when a call drags on my brew doesn't get cold. Also being all metal it's unlikely to break.
edit: I see the image upload is broken.
Yes.

Starting to show a bit of wear and tear and even though it's been through many many dishwasher cycles, it still has good colour. I was a massive Simpsons fan BITD - this was (obviously) bought for my 30th birthday - and I'm now 51. They don't make them like they used to...
I smashed my coffee mug on lunch today - it was one of those ones that used to change colour when hot and looked like a rocket took off into the sky but by the end it basically did nothing. Anyway, went to google to get another and obviously put the wrong search words in because the top result was this -Â https://uk.ember.com/products/ember-mug-2?
£150 for a 'smart' temperature regulating mug! Just wow
Doesn't little Rishi have one of those?^
It's a branded version of this....

My collection of big Petes Eats mugs (the cafe in Llanberis for those who don’t know). Got my first in probably late 80s and must have 4 different ones. Haven’t been back for years now…wonder if they have changed the design
@nuke I've got some sad news for you. It's been closed for over a year. Supposedly being revamped to be opened again at some undetermined point in the future. Some mock-up photos I saw made it look more like a hipster cafe than the iconic mountaineering cafe and accommodation we know and love. Smashed avocado on sourdough rather than full fry ups and pint mugs of steaming tea.
Yep, a Land Rover mug but the handle fell off 🙂
Kind of sums up Land Rovers
I did glue it back on but not risking a repeat performance.
I really like my rapha one that someone bought for me. Feels really nice to use and fits my coffee just right
My favourite was the Singletrack 100 cover by Jo Burt. I was gutted when I dropped that at work!!!
The question seems to be who doesn’t have a favourite mug, and why are they so odd?
I don't and I deny being odd! Its you lot that are weird
Favourite is my "coffee ride coffee ride coffee ride coffee ride coffee rest coffee ride coffee ride coffee beer".STW mug. 2nd favourite is my 2016 Brighton Big Dog. Joint 3rd are bone china (maybe, they're not big thick mugs) 'bean cycling' and 'hairy bikers' cups which are preferred for coffee before cycling to work..
Chunky ol' STW mug. No idea how old, but used every day.
