My Danish girlfriend and I are off to a holiday cottage in Bornholm for a week with her family. I've met them before and they're all nice but I'm wondering if there was any cycling etc there in case I get bored. My attempts at learning Danish have failed so conversation is not going to fill the time 😐
As long as you learn the Danish for "No thank you, I've had enough Herring" you'll be fine:)
Been ages ago as a child, have very fond memories of Bornholm.
Should be some nice riding there, its also the only place in Denmark to have a official downhill track!!

I like the herring, too much pork and a lack of veg though.
The downhill track sounds promising, or maybe hiring a road bike for a day.
Never been there, but doubt that there is a doctor or a medical student anywhere who hasn't heard of the place. Has it's own code in the International Classification of Diseases See here.
Don't get excited. Coxsackie B virus is everywhere and Bornholm's starring role in medical history was a long long time ago.
The first time I met my boyfriend's Danish parents it seemed they barely spoke a word of English.
The second time they were practically fluent 🙂
Æsel is good game which overcomes the language barrier...
