More specifically any V60 owners.
Interested in one but curious about running costs and need convincing it's not a mad idea 😳
Thanks
I had one as a courtesy car while my (proper sized!) car was in for a service recently. It was nice enough, but the boot is just too badly shaped for me. V70, please!
CFH - not sure if that means you own a Vulva or not...if so, what are service costs generally like and are they reliable - the one I want has lots of gadgets I don't need and would be a put-off if any issues with them...cheers
Sorry, not clear enough! I have a V70 AWD-T. Main dealers are costly for services, but shop around and the overall running costs aren't too bad. Reliability seems good for most, but as with anything, there's a chance of getting a Friday afternoon car! The V60 had al sorts of eco-nagging in it, which may help with fuel efficiency.
Got a V60 D4 business edition. It a company car so not sure of servicing costs, but at an independent centre I'd expect it to be comparable to equivalent cars. I achieve around mid 40s mpg. and I'm not particularly sympathetic, a mix of motorway/A roads/country lanes. Done 24K since I got it last Dec and it's been faultless, only been in for a service. Comfortable for knocking out the miles and reasonably practicable, seats split 40:60, 60:40, just centre and fold flat. As above sheer space isn't the best as the rear is raked, but our Labrador seems happy in there.
All things considered, I'd have it on my list to buy with my own money if I was looking to op-out the scheme.
Cheers guys - just doing a bit of research and seems there have been a few snags with the model - as lovely as it is I'm not willing to take the risk with it.
Probably get a 'boring' Golf instead...which one I don't know (big MPG and low tax) 😕
V60 D4 (new 4 cylinder version) here. (Business Edition)
Fantastic CO2 for 180bhp car of 99g and cheap list price of Business Edition means as a company car it cost nothing (the rebate I get on my allowance covers the tax I pay).
Been faultless in 20k. Seats are the best I have sat in - just seem to fit my body.
Space in boot is not great but bikes go on the roof.
Satnav/stereo even has a web browser - what more do you need to sell it to you! 😉
My first volvo but think I will be having another when this one hits 100k.
I got given a v60 D4 for work. It's quick, pretty economical, comfortable and feels like a tank. It's not the best handling car I've ever had but it's not like it has bad habits. The boot, as said before, is a bit smaller than you'd expect but it's a good size with the seats down and even with them up I can whack a road bike in there. That said, I got a towbar and a bike rack for that to make things easier. It's infinitely more practical than my old alfa 159 SW
I'd get another as my next company car if that helps.
I've got an XC60 D4 SE Lux AWD, having recently changed from a Freelander. If it is a new car, they are offering servicing pack for 3yrs/£300 or 5yrs/£500.
The engine in the AWD version is the older 2.4ltr 5 cyclinder model rather than the new 2.0ltr 4 cylinder more fuel efficent model. With the bigger car, more weight etc and towing a caravan I've still returned 36mpg. So in the V60 I'd expect over 40.
I can't comment on long term reliabilty as I've only had it 3 months, but so far, I've not had to go back to the dealer. (The Freelander was towed by LR after a month!)
