I'm afraid I'm not very computer game savvy so forgive me for asking the obvious question - what exactly makes that cartridge so rare and valuable? I couldn't quite grasp the significance of it from the description.

That Wikipedia page even mentions this auction:

2014 Auction[edit]
On 24 January 2014 a copy of the game appeared on ebay with the first bid at $4,999. [19]. The price skyrocketed past $30,000 [20] and is currently at just over $90,000, making it by far the highest price ever paid for a single video game. The auction will end at 15:55:10 PST on January 25, 2014.[21]
