Would it be ok to use a chandelier light fitting in the UK/Ireland that was shipped from the US or is there an issue regarding the 110v versus 220v wiring/transformer? Or is it a case of just sticking in a 220v bulb?

The bulbs are the same everywhere, aren't they?

Edit: meaning - changing the bulb doesn't change anything.

How many STWers does it take to change a light bulb?

One, but if fifteen of us all put our minds together, we can engineer an LED-based solution under 300 quid that NEVER NEEDS CHANGING AGAIN!!!

You would need new bulbs if they are 110V. There might be issues with the cabling and insulation.. not sure if the heat ratings would be significant because 60W is still 60W regardless of voltage.

You mention transformer.. if it's a 12V system then you just need to change the transformer (or it might already work on 110-220V)
