A friend has just bought some vintage cars from Colorado needs to get them to LA. Via Alberqerque, Grand Canyon and Route 66.
Once in a lifetime job.
It is next month, what will the weather be like, what are the best Diners/ Motels?
The smaller, Independant places, from the 50's, that's what we're after.
Obviously an afternoon in the saddle would be nice.
Anyone tried similar?

Jealous, very very jealous. Do you get to choose which car you drive? and what are they?

my jealousy knows no bounds - however

Obviously an afternoon in the saddle would be nice.

Chicken Ranch, Las Vegas?

diners - I'd recomemnd Black bear Diners. surprised to find out it's a big franchise, but based on the one or two I visited, classic Americana.

I think we'll take it in turns.
The support car is an old station wagon.
Not sure of the others.
Something interesting, as the cost to fly out and drive them is less than shipping.

No chicken, free range or otherwise.
We will try to avoid the chains, but if it's a small local one it's fine.

I drove from Denver to Vegas this summer. On Rt 66 we stayed at the Rodeway Inn, Williams, Arizona. A 50s motel right on the original Rt 66.

The best driving road in the 3700 miles we did was the Million Dollar Highway Colorado. Steep climbs and hairpins with no guard rails. Worth doing if it can be worked into your route.

Irc thanks, great tip. Defo try to dial in that drive.
Just found out, we start in Sheridan Wyoming.
Some good biking up there, not sure how much time we have.
Looks incredible.
We will drive back down through Denver on to Albequerque.
