forget your cheetahs and barracudas.

on an early morning road ride this morning a rabbit paced me at 27mph for a good 100yds this morning.

I was impressed.

Little buggers can run when they want to.

I can never believe how fast a rabbit is.....I remember my dog chasing one over tufty grass and he never closed the gap......and they've only got 2in legs!

Mind you, a squirrel can shift too.

That's a rat you've seen.

Nothing compared to a cat upon hearing a tin opener.

I was amazed at how fast my old Staffy was over the first 25 yards, he was in love with a Lurcher and they would tear around the place untill she got fed up and would run away ๐Ÿ˜† first 20-25 yards he could keep up easily then long legs and not brute strength took over.

You should see my whippet when he gets a clear run at a bowl of cat food.

Not too fussed on eating his own grub though, the awkward bugger.

I clocked a few birds recently when in the car. Swallows can do 60kph, pigeons 100.

The hares are much faster than rabbits, I think.

No offense Piggy but no way could a staffy keep up with a lurcher over 0-500m or any distance in between unless the lurcher was very old or wasnt trying hard. Our lurcher is pretty slow compared to others but can jog faster than non-running dogs. Greyhounds can go about 40mph.

Tortoises are even faster than hares, apparently

my collie run rings round my mates lurcher, but then he changes direction every 20yds. granted once the lurcher is up to speed its no competition but it takes a while to wind those legs up.
