I went in to developer options to turn on LDAC Bluetooth streaming. Turns out I didn't need to, it's a normal option when my Sony headphones are connected

I'm not going to start messing about with stuff I know nothing about, but does anyone go in there and have any useful hacks?

Not really unless you are rooting and installing custom ROMs etc.

Root for android is basically like admin accounts on Windows.
You might find the odd thing or two useful but mostly nothing.
One notable feature is that it allows you to install non-Google play store apps etc, but that's a very risky business.
