MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
So, after following recommendations on here I've finally gone and got an Android phone. Motorola G5S Plus, and very nice it its too, especially the £200 price tag.
A bit confused with the UI at first, after years of WinPhone devotion, but I've got the hang of it now.
What apps are the best for:
1 - Podcasts
2 - Music listening
3 - Camera stuff
TIA !
Pocket Casts for #1, especially if you listen on other devices too.
2 - I like power amp for the tweekability of EQ and multi format support, it can really make a flat /tinny sounding phone a lot better. Takes a bit of tweeking though if that's your bag

1 - BBC Radio Player
2 - BBC Radio Player
3 - Snapseed
1 - dunno
2 - PowerAmp
3 - OpenCamera is a great photo app
1. Podcast Addict
2. PowerAmp
3. I don't need to do anything I can't do in Google Photo.
I like Podcast Addict.
2 - I use GooglePlay Music app or Spotify.
3. Inbuilt camera app and Snapseed
2 - Vanilla Music. It is pretty simple, lightweight and free/open source. Still quite a few things you can tweak if you want.
3 - OpenCamera. Plenty of options to tweak, may give you better photos than the standard camera app.
Another vote for Poweramp.
Google photos. Just do it.
Pocket Casts. Good podcast app.
SwiftKey. Best keyboard imo.
Keep. Share to do/shopping lists, etc.
Ampere. How fast are your different chargers and cables.
Google street view 360 camera app
Relive... Works with Garmin to give nice route fly through so with GPS tagged pics you took on the ride
Thanks for recommending Power Amp folks. Downloaded it earlier and am really impressed with it
Thanks for recommending Power Amp folks.
I paid for the Pro version. Well worth the price of a pint. For videos, MX Player is great.
SwiftKey. Best keyboard imo.
Plays silly buggers with the forum though (unless it's been fixed now?) I'm an advocate of Swype.
Backcountry Navigator. Well worth 10.99 all the maps you could need. Just download to your phone and off you go. Currently I am in Norway and I downloaded their maps at no extra cost. All others in groups paid extra for worse maps.
Neither swiftkey or swype seem to offer any killer features over the stock android keyboard.
All seem to be effected by the silly forum editor though in my experience.
