Sad times.

I think 'Don't take your love to town' is the motto for everyone, not just Ruby, at the moment.

When I was a kid I got a dad who used to play all these songs in the car as we went about places, its funny how all these sad songs bring back happy memories. RIP dad and Kenny Rogers.

I'm prepared to give most music a go but C&W really is a challenge to me. There are always exceptions though, and Kenny Rogers is one of them. RIP to a great artist.

Is it an age thing? Absolutely hated C&W when Ruby, Lucille etc were in the charts, but quite happy to listen to them now.

As for Wichita Lineman (yes I know it’s not a Kenny Rogers song) that’s sublime- but wouldn’t have said that 30+ years ago.

Grew up with my mum playing him and Dolly Parton so always had a soft spot for a bit of Kenny. Then I found out he sung a truly brilliant song. RIP

Some of the best memories are made of things like this...

That’s the only First Edition tune I know, and it’s brilliant.
