Thing is, it's evident on the A+A thread and on some other threads today, that some folk still aren't getting what the forum rules mean, and think it's ok to post pics that they think are ok, without respecting the fact that others might find them inappropriate or offensive.

The way I see it, is don't post owt that you would think inappropriate for a child to see, and you're probbly alright. A picture of a lady in her pants might be ok, or not, depending on the context of the image. I think it just need a moment's thought, and consideration for others, before hitting the submit button.

but there needs to be consensus, you can not be held responsible for what i find offensive. None of the pics in the A&A thread would have been offensive, to the general public, yet clearly TJ found them to be so. How do we arbitrate here?

7 pages of what i suspect is tosh? anyone care to sumarise?

personally i don't look at A&A or Kylie threads as they are always the same pictures and frankly are boring now, surely the fans of the thread have the pics saved on their hard drives anyway?

CharlieMungus - I have only very quickly skimmed this thread but TJ starts off by saying he disagrees with pics being posted of scantily clad women. We will never all agree on this topic BUT we all have the opportunity of posting up our point of view.

Woody - sorry, I'm not convinced. As for that Robbie Williams - ugh!

iDave - yes, you're right - I did help that thread along a bit by trolling to see the reaction from you guys. 'Lairy comments'? Nah, I wouldn't do that. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I was in the wrong, as can be seen from my comments above.

Why not have a read through it, look at the various arguments etc, and decide for yourself? There might be a point of view hidden away in there which you might not yet have considered. Just an idea, like, you know...

Views differ. Such is life. For me, the only off-putting thing about STW is the spite shown towards others.

I suspect some of you wouldn't be so nasty in person. On the other hand some of you probably would, thinking nothing of it. Maybe you should think more of it.

I love the A&A thread, just a shame the pics are repeated so often. It all adds to lifes rich tapestry. If you don't like it move onto a different thread, simples

I normally like to read TJs rantings as they normally amuse and/or inform in a perverse way but this thread has left me feeling somewhat unfulfilled and unsatisfied.

I'm a LTLSP (Long Term Lurker Sometime Poster) on STW and of late I am usually astounded, astonished and amazed by the people who post on here. They just can't be real. There just can't be so many total bell ends in the world can there?

Oh, there is.

If you want a summary, I think the flaming car rolling over and over, and every time it rolls over a penguin falls out of it, and they keep trying to fan the car to stop the flames but that just keeps it rolling analogy works quite well...

I do not believe on an open forum that posting pictures of scantily clad women is appropriate. Its clearly against the forum rules

will those who agree with me register their support?

not i, and not STW either

Farmers Choice - I think that most forumites will agree that directing common insults at other users is far less desirable than pretty much any other kind of post.

Look at the time of the post where I accepted the label "Millie Tant."

I'm cringing my skin off for you.

You're a grown man, pushing 50, if I recall.

Tragic.

c_g, i recognise that you agree with TJ that pictures of scantily clad women would be a bad thing for the forum. However, in this case he was tilting at windmills, there were no such pictures on A&A.

Also, can I push you on the 'this' which you were referring to?

There normally are or perhaps I am misunderstanding.

Sorry, i do se it is a bit vague, but i think TJ or another also referred to 'this kind of thing' as you did here.

I'm not gay but do feel that if people want this, there are other places.

I'm not clear what is meant by the 'this' because if it is pornography you refer to, then there are much better forms available, and for me this indicates that folks aren't posting the pics for that reason

There normally are or perhaps I am misunderstanding.

perhaps so, but it struck me that TJ was prompted to revive this sentiment off the back of the current incarnation which didn't have such imagery IMHO

TSY - most people when they stop smoking put on weight. You, on the other hand, are claiming you have lost weight! I can only summise that this is due to your evening exploits. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Oh, and being very careful not to snack instead of smoke!

Ta to aleigh and CG

My efforts are not wasted

I am now absolutely steaming and have been working out with the missus how to freak folk out with the dirty dancing on our 50th

Wine your body, wriggle your belly, Dip and go down in a new style
Wine and go up, wine and go down, Bubble and a rock-a to the new style around
Now you fe line it up, and you fe wine it up
Ah do the boom-shack-a-lak till the dance hall full up

many thanks to vanilla - if this thread did not die the death it deserved this post should have done it

Interestingly TJ has a problem with other people posting semi clad photos of other people, but he doesn't have a problem posting a photo of himself...[img] [/img]

you dirty peado perve - thats a perfectly innocent pic of a 14 yr old boy. It wa the 70s - we did not know better but you should have

Oh and for the hard of thinking ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜‰

Charlie - I just find it all a bit childish and sleazy, kind of schoolboy-ish.

I do hope that as a woman I'm accepted on here, for contributions on both the Bike and Chat Forum. It really would be a shame if other girlies were put off from posting.

Obviously on any Forum, one needs to don a thick skin particularly if you are a woman. Naturally this Forum is male-dominated and one needs to tolerate banter as it goes with the territory. I do know there are one or two blokes on here that have a problem with women on the Forum.

But, ok, so it is childish, but that's harmless. The sleazy is more problematic.

Eh? There were at least a couple of pics which were removed! Not to mention a couple more throughout today, on other threads. And people thinking they're funny with innuendic threads which weren't actually funny.

Of course, nothing else matters apart from what I think, let's face it. And if I say nay, then nay it shall be. And if you argue with me, then you are a fool, for you shall be wrong and I am right. It's just the way it is, like the mountains and the rivers and seas.
