I want/need a cheap tablet for making notes at work (Evernote), e-mails and bit if web browsing. Fire 7's are currently £30 and would seem to fit the bill, any thoughts?

Great for playing Minecraft on and watching Youtube minecraft videos. My 9 year old doesn't use Evernote, so I can't comment.
