Ive looked at both BMC and Snowcard for an up coming trip to Chamonix , im torn between both for cover any advice anyone can offer 🙂

A lot of insurers will cover sports depending on the activities and altitude. For example we get cover that includes hill walking, trekking, via ferrata up to 3000m but not climbing. Proper climbing is usually excluded in normal policies though
If you're doing sport/trad climbing and going high look at Austrian Alpine club membership and insurance. Have a look on the UK Climbing forum too

I used to use Endsleigh in the olden days then went over to BMC. They were good value as marketed towards the student crowd. Might be worth a look?
Be careful with AAC as membership only covers rescue insurance not medicaland travel.
BMC had good rep and I know a couple of people who used it after big accidents and it just sorted everything. Snow card also have a good rep but never used them.
Also any profit from BMC insurance goes to the BMC who campaign on access etc. and are not cyclist phobic like ramblers but want good access for all outdoors users. Yes I am biased having been a member for a long time.
