Our *!?&#**£ shower is doing it's biannual leak.
I'm fed up with resealing it once again, so would like to fit one of those all in one cubicles, which should (I assume!) stop any leaks.
Has anyone fitted one, and suggestions for good brands, or ones to avoid would be welcome.
Budget is probably £400-800 for the unit.
which should (I assume!) stop any leaks.
I bet it doesn't....
A decade or more ago I found a brand that sold shower trays with a 10cm upstand built in on the walls. It also had a 1cm upstand and moulded mount for the matching doors. Proper belt and braces to prevent leaks, yet didn't look like a caravan shower...
Not made anymore.
A normal shower tray properly fitted will also solve your leak issue. Seems like an overkill solution.
I hate tiling too 😡 and the current ones will probably need replacing with a new shower and/or base.
Just seems like an easier option, that will negate having to grout and silicon seal (and reseal every year or so).
You can sack off the tiling with a shower wall. The cheap stuff that you see in budget hotels is a bit rubbish but the better quality stuff looks good, is easy to fit and only has one joint at the corner. With the aluminium profile it's easy to seal. You can also get bottom strops for it that seal between the wall and the tray. Very neat and will stay sealed without re-siliconing. This sort of thing https://www.showerwall.co.uk/product/sureseal/
The bathroom redecoration awaits me in January, I will be using the Aqua Panel type of panels instead of tiling. Their are some decent looking options available nowadays.
