Sad news. Wen I wert lad, I was a big Cramps fan and so followed up on his production on 'Songs the Lord Taught Us' and from there I discovered a whole new world of magic.

I used to listen to my dad's box tops single, and as a teeen discovered Big Star, led me onto Teenage Fanclub and a million other derivatives....

gutted they were at reading festival about 15 years ago, I was there at the time unaware of them so didn't see them (see also Jeff Buckley)

Here's a quick spotify playlist to get anyone started not familiar with Mr Chilton

Thats sad. Some of his songs are amongst my all time favourites. I lent him my twin reverb at a gig once, he was super friendly and enthusiastic about playing.

very sad, was just reading an article about Big Star the other day after hearing their music in a movie (Adventureland if interested)

Looks like Radio City will be on heavy rotation today

I never really listened to loads of his stuff, but enjoyed Big Star via The Posies. Another one bites.

Kept hearing about Big Star over the years but never got round to listening to them until today, better late than never.
