Also Copper Blue - Sugar.
and have been listening to lots of PWEI recently. Worth a relisten. 🙂
I was looking for the right song for a video I'm editing last night and came across the Slingbacks album, All Pop No Star. 14 years on and I'm still in love with Shireen Liane, something about the way she pronounces every single word like it has an H in it goes directly to the groin
Brilliant album.
Also stumbled across my old Placebo albums, haven't listened to them for years but what a band.
Surfer Rosa come on pilgrim- Pixies, still gives me goose bumps!
Beastie boys- Ill Communication makes me ride faster!
The Cult - Electric
Check out track 6 "Bad Fun" If i had a helmet cam that would be my 1st choice for a clip of fast flowing singletrack
Banging !
🙂
Trouty. Thats a top quality call. The Cult was the first gig i ever went too. I'm going to bung Electric on now 😀
Sasha - Adventures on the Pleasure Planet
Two Lone Swordsmen - Tiny Reminders
Gomez - Bring It On
+ lots of the others already mentioned
Have to agree with Joolsburger.
A lot of those are on my biking playlists.
Likewise Screamadelica, Music For a Jilted Generation, William Orbit's Strange Cargo 3, a hefty chunk of New Order's back catologue (I've a couple of Factory Records white labels) and some Happy Mondays.
Chesney Hawkes-best of 😯 😛

black crowes-shake your money maker
Iron maiden - killers
They might be giants - flood
Failure - magnified
Just recently rediscovered Groove Armada - Goodbye Country(hello nightclub).
Old albums that I've been recently re-listening to and have come to the conclusion that modern music is cack:
the cult- Love
Sisters of mercy- first, last and always
mordred-fools game
Pixies-Bossanova
Creaming jesus- It's dance magic
Rollins Band - End of silence
Marillion - Script for a jesters tear
Bad Religion - No Control
Floodland, Love & Children are ok (well, Love is excellent), but IMO the following are better - perhaps it's the dreaded "second album syndrome" that's letting the above down 😉
Sisters: First & Last & Always
The Cult: Dreamtime
The Mission: God's Own Medicine
some second albums that didn't suffer from SAS:
Stiff Little Fingers - Nobody's Heroes
Nirvana - Nevermind
New Model Army - No Rest For The Wicked
rusty trowel - Marillion good call 😀
@ tazzy - Mordred were great live. The marquee was great in those days (early 90s).
Kings of the Wild Frontier must hold the record for the shortest time span between being the most desirable album ever to being the most embarassing album ever.
I know, it was a real shame. But listen to it now and, with the possible exception of Jolly Roger & Magnificent 5, it's still very very good. Ants Invasion in particular
Killing Joke - Brighter than a Thousand Suns. Complete and utter classic.
threads like this are a killer, I'm now going through all my old vinyl and memory lane. I'm going to be so depressed at work tomorrow trying to figure out where it all went so wrong and I ended up as a responsible adult 😥
Play Dead - The First Flower. More of a mini-LP but what a cracker
virign prunes - if i die, i die
Bauahus- mask
I miss my crimpers
hahahahahaha, I've just found BowWowWow
Kyuss - sky valley
Rancid - and out come the wolves
Corrosion of Conformity - Blind
Promise Ring - Very emergency
Primus - sailing the seas of cheese and frizzle fry
Jane's Addiction - 'Strays' is one that never gets old.
Why are you laughing at BowWowWow?? Top quality. Leigh Gorman is my hero!
Primus suck
Psychedelic Jungle -The Cramps
Henry's dream -Nick Cave
Crank -Hoodoo Gurus
Machine gun etiquette -The Damned

faster pussycat- wake me when it's over
LA guns- cocked and loaded
Nephilim - Dawnrazor
Jets to Brazil - orange rhyming dictionary
Babes in toyland - to mother
I miss my crimpers
not sure if it would look so good on me now, a fat 45 grey-haired old drummer. I'll stick to the memories eh?
+1 Dawnrazor
+1 Mask
+1 Head Over Heels
+1 Machine Gun Etiquette
All About Eve (AAE)
The Black Album
but of course, I haven't forgotten about these, I still listen now.

Singer (and principal writer) is into Joy Division, The Sound, The Chameleons, FOTN, NMA etc
I'm into NMA, Chameleons, FOTN, Sisters etc
bassist is into old school punk, The Jam, Big Country
other guitarist (blutac from on here) is into blues.
mix it up & make it nice 😉
We're working on a cover of Transmission. We did play with "A Forest" but his voice isn't whiney enough 😉
Don't know about Altered States though. We've also been likened to Editors, Interpol, and you might hear some Killing Joke in my drumming
in the studio this weekend so more to come...
altered states-one of my fave bands just has the same sort of attitude
I quite like that, although I've never heard it before. It reminds me a bit of Red Lorry Yellow Lorry / early Mission
funnily enough I'm a huge lorries fan as well. Early stuff was very similar I'll definitely pop over to sunny bradistan and see you guys play and promise not to heckle 😉
cool, come along & introduce yourself. I'm the fat one with drum sticks 😉
we have to take a short break now as our bass player needs surgery on his wrists - carpal tunnel syndrome; but we're back in August, as indicated on the Myspace page
I'm trying to get some gigs sorted elsewhere in the North but these things take time. Newcastle, Manchester, Sheffield, Barnsley, York, Wakefield, Doncaster etc - the sort of places we can get to in time to soundcheck after a full day's work.
Bradford's banned though. nobody plays out
ooops... nearly forgot
Shpongle - Are You Shpongled
Shpongle - Tales of the Inexpressible
@yunki- DMT is a truly epic tune
