Rich Robinson, Through A Crooked Sun. Alabama Shakes, Boys & Girls. First Aid Kit, The Lions Roar. Haven't got the album but also loving Counter Charm by She Keeps Bees.
Over to you.
First Aid Kit.
Band of Horses.
Alabama Shakes.
Ultraista.
My favourite of 2012; Tame Impala - Lonerism
Privateering- Mark Knopfler. A real surprise 'cos a lot of Dire Straits stuff used to bore me, but this is an absolute peach of an album, which bears repeated listening with a glass of your favourite tipple to hand. Highly recommended.
I like that Tame Impala record a lot too, the Goat - World Music album is also a winner.
Yes, yes, yes, if I'm really honest I loved the first album so much it took me a few listens to get into this, but my god it's really a grower, the silly references to John Lennon on YouTube are silly but sometimes justified, vocal range is similiar and he's using analogue mics with I assume analogue reverbs, it's a default Lennon sound.Tame Impala - Lonerism
I also love this, there live set at T in the park was amazing:
Privateering- Mark Knopfler
just bought a bottle of Balvenie, I'll give that a go with a few sips tonight! Perfect!
Alabama Shakes
The Vaccines
The Maccabees
sitting back with expensive whisky and listening to Mark Knopfler says a lot about this forum!
At least nobody has mentioned Mumford And Bums.
Bob Dylan - Tempest.

Alt-J by miles for me .

First Aid Kit a close second (I saw them in Glesga on Sat night, excellent)
So much good stuff out there just now ,it's hard to choose (for my taste anyway) ๐
GeoffjDad rock rules!
I told a young kid at work ,that Brandon Flowers sounded like Chris de Burgh and he almost burst in to flames ๐

Happy to help
Plum
Bollocks.
I'm now considering buying a Mark Knopfler album, and faced with the dilemma of whether to buy CD or download MP3...
New Calexico? Missed that ๐ณ
Forgot about Cat Power. And Grizzly Bear.
@ grievoustim, great list some I don't know so will enjoy doing a bit of discovery. Have you seen the grimes video for genesis, not sure if it's genius or mis-guided chav proto rave nonsense, I enjoyed it anyway.
plumber sounds like a plumber
The Enemy - Streets in the sky
Band of skulls - Sweet sour
The Vaccines +1

Alt-J for me too I think.
listening to alt J, It's very 'now' isn't it? will be regarded as classic in 5 years? I doubt it...
Some have been mentioned above but they warrant a mention again,
First Aid Kit - The Lions Roar
Ben Howard - The Burgh Island EP
Of Monsters and Men - My Head Is An Animal
Frightened Rabbit - State Hospital EP
We Are Augustines - Rise Ye Sunken Ships
Tunng - This is Tunng.....Live From The BBC
And a special mention has to go to friends who released brilliant albums of traditional scottish folk music this year :
The Paul McKenna Band, brilliant album that saw the boys take to the USA and Canada for their first tour across the pond to genuine acclaim.
Mutual Friends by BOY
They supported Katie Melua this year and were excellent!!
Soulsavers - The Light The Dead See. Not 'cool' but I like it, a lot.
Can only possibly be Purity Ring for me, just amazing, especially after seeing them live this week.
Runners up include Alt-J, Four Tet and Django Django
The XX second album Coexist - it is as good as everyone said the first one was...
Quite like the Egyptian Hip Hop album.
Another here for Battle Born. Loved seeing them at Birmingham and Flowers definitely has a very good voice which sadly let him down at another gig. Definitely gives it his all on stage and can't wait see them at Wembley next year.
