Advice please for a mate. He has had company cars for last 10 years but kept his fiesta as a run around. It passed its MOT with advisories on 4 tyres and a few other things. He collected it unsure if he was going to keep it long term, them decided some months later he would so took it back for the new tyres.
He has just had a call to say its ready but they have had to do other work to it (mostly labour rate) which has amounted to about what the cars worth. He didn't ask nor was informed about the extra work or if he wanted it doing. Were does he stand?

If i remember correctly they should not have carried out the extra work without first asking your mate.
what garage was it? not kwik fit i hope!
