I'm surprised it piddles or poops on the lawn TBH - they prefer soil. Loads of neighbour's cats here, none do that (ours are indoor/catio limited), although plenty of space not to poop on a lawn.
The neighbourhood cats regularly shit on my lawn, although I don’t notice so much now because I’ve effectively let that part of the garden, such as it, is go wild - too much effort involved trying to stop invasive plants like Dog Violets and a variety of other wild plants have taken over that it’s become almost impossible to keep on top of, but keeping the cats out is nigh-on impossible too there’s flats the other side of the fence at the bottom of my garden who have cats, and they see the rest of the area as fair game for their mogs to crap on, and same with someone several houses down the street, whose cats seem to use the same latrines gardens as well.
As a deterrent, one of the tracked armed robot/drones the the Ukrainians operate would be my choice, although a .50 calibre Browning auto cannon might be considered overkill, so something similar that shoots high-velocity water ‘bullets’ might work, especially if it’s programmed to aim for the area just under the tail when the mog squats down and lifts its tail up… 🫣

SPYRA.COM I've had cats in the past crapping on the lawn. Bought a pir water sprayer. Within a few nights the cat didn't come back.
OP if you're local to Chorley you can borrow mine and see how you get on. You just need a hosepipe to connect it up.
