...what to do for Christmas dinner this year ๐ฏ
Is that a bad thing? Am I way premature?
Had a turkey crown last year. But fancy something different.
Please; humour me and give me some suggestions.
Goose. Top nommage.
forerib.
Need to order it in mid November though so it's hung long enough ๐
Best xmas dinner I ever did was:
beef fillet carpaccio w parmesan
Smoked salmon
scallops
handmade belgian chocs
a squidgy stilton
some superb wines and a port
nothing big and heavy just spread out over 3 hours or so of gourmandery. Nom. ๐
Bloody 'ell Stoner - that sounds fantastic.
*wishes it was Christmas Eve*
I normally do a rare beef wellington or haunch of venison with lots of seasonal veg and devils on horseback. Always roast a couple of birds (phnar) Christmas day evening for people to snack on.
hedgehogs.. baked in clay so that the spines fall off..
Binners - on that subject:
"White cider is made by processing dessert apples and the pomace after the traditional milling process, resulting in an almost colourless product that has been heavily filtered. Pomace is the dry apple pulp left behind when the juice has been pressed out of it and this is usually fed to animals or used for making pectin. Other large manufacturers use apple concentrate from abroad and get most of the alcohol from the addition of glucose or corn syrup. This is then fermented out to about 15%abv and then brought down with water to around 7.5abv and sold in 2 or 3 litre bottles at prices that sometimes make lemonade seem expensive. The glucose is derived from maize or wheat starch and is changed by enzymes into sugars which in turn are changed into alcohol. So the majority of the alcohol in white cider has very little to do with apples at all. "
So all white cider is just horrible shit.
This morning, all I could think about was this...
Am I going to hell?
See you there druidh ๐
Starship, I reckon individual turkey crowns for your guests/family wear would be a step up from last. Just picture their happy little faces. Gravy?
Am I going to hell?
If so you've got to join the queue ๐
shove over you lot.
Hey, get to the back wiseguys.
Hopefully Pheasant's this year, I hate Turkey.
In a very odd way I am looking forward to Christmas this year - having lost dad 2 years ago and just in June, mum, there is just me and my 'ickle brother left (t'other brother lives at the other side of the country). So I am going to cook a full Christmas Dinner and have him up to eat with my family as in the past we always went to mum & dad's, latterly just mum's.
So, making something good out of a bad situation and I have already been having a really good think about what I can do and looking forward to it ๐
I want fish. I'm sick of eating piles of meat at Christmas.
So sue me.
darrell mate - that looks bloody awful.
Makes the traditional English xmas dinner look truly awesome.
And you puree a fellow Scandanavian to complete the dish.
Booked and eating out this year. With the addition of 2 new baby grandkids(now 5) the logistics of eating at anyones home have become too difficult. We will also be having a few days at Center Parcs beforehand ๐
How about trying out Swan
Pheasant's what, Milkie? There's not much to a pheasant beyond the breasts.
Druidh I luv you, that's the funniest vid I've seen in ages! ๐
have to wipe the tea of the keyboard now.
Just watched that video from druidh. I feel unclean and very glad no one can see my screen at work.
Thanks Druidh ๐
I can't get the bloody tune or the image of the alsation licking her lips out of my head!
It's even better if you download the HD version and play it full screen
........ apparantly ๐ณ
Rump for crimbo dinner then ๐

Maybe one good reason not to sample the magic mushrooms when out hiking.

Congrats - I would be planning something lavish in that case! Babies first Christmas and all that.
this is what we eat here on the west coast of Norway
Darrel so no Kumla at xmas? I have tried that sheeps bones having spent a few xmas's on Norweigan platforms, disgusting IMO and the Kumla.
I'm doing venison this year

Oh aye? And what are you making for Christmas lunch?
You know, I really can't take the plaudits for that Youtube link. It was posted on here by someone else last night....
I'll never look at a Police dog quite the same way again....
