Can I remove the pause between tracks on an iTunes playlist,
Or do I need a specialist DJ app?
are you playing from a computer or an iPod/phone? On your computer there should be a crossfade option in the iTunes prefs. On a phone the option doesn't seem to be there
If you're wanting to just set up something to run unattended I [i]think[/i] if you burn a CD with the crossfade option then you'll get that crossfade on the CD although some CD players will give a fractional skip between each track

If your on a PC -
There is a crossfade setting in Itunes that should help you out slightly. Go into Edit - Preferences - Playback and then set the crossfade slider to a certain amount of seconds and should work fine..
On a portable device -
There isn't a function built in, however 'MY DJ - Crossfade for Iphone' is free and works great!

If you want to go random and have a Mac use tangerine to make playlists from your library. You can end up with some interesting juxtapositioning of tracks.
