(Keep yer comments to yourself please ! )Applied for a credit card from Santander to make paying more straightforward .For the first time ever got refused !Now then we don't have a mortgage , don't owe a penny to anyone always pay our credit card bill in full so we don't pay interest .Current account is healithly in the black .
So i appealed .Had a letter back yesterday still refusing us .Also in amongst our post a letter from Alliance & Leicester (part of Santander group )offering us a loan of £14950 at a special rate !!!!Talk about unreal not safe enough for a credit card but hey here's nearly £15K go enjoy yerself !!!!You couldn't make it up !
Loan = guaranteed interest to them
Credit Card history = no payment to them.
Maybe meditating on the Tao Te Ching would help?

This is why. You don't have a credit history, and they won't make money from you.
they don't see you as a good customer!
no interest - no profit for them!
The banks arent lending, don't take it personally. Credit card debt could blow up this year and be another subprime.
