Got your enclosures dmelsome, one part fits a charm, the other has some oddness that I’ve hopefully sorted.

Cool, thanks for the update 🙂

These hopelessly delayed weather station parts? Why yes they are...

[img] [/img]

...carbon fibre. Because this is STW after all

Sorry for the delay folks, discovered that a setting I'd carried over from the old version of Cura (the slicer software) into the newest version, basically screwed it completely. Finally got that sorted a couple of days ago. Yours are hopefully printing now Phil, but might still need a couple of iterations as they're quite support-intensive and that's where the issue was

Hey Northwind,

They look cool 🙂 No delay at all, that will be with me. I have the weather sensors up and logging data, now I need to learn how to connect to the database and ship the data somewhere to get pretty weather visualisations.

Hey @northwind (or anyone else), would you be interested in printing me a couple of EXT suspension adjusters? It's basically a cuboid with a 12mm hex hole in the middle and a 4mm allen sticking out of one end, 50x20mm. More than happy to pay.

I can't design things but if you can find me the design somewhere, I can print it...

Think I will get Phil's done tonight, at last! The hard ones are done, just got the easy bits left.

Just spotted your post from the other day, thanks a lot for sorting these 🙂

Still no rush for me, it’s a good excuse for not taking the headlining down in the van at the moment. I’m not looking forward to that job.

@cleetonator - sounds like Northwind has you covered, but you can ping me a message if he can't help.
Don't want to step on any toes, but I can generate a model & do the printing if required...

@stumpy01 Thanks for the offer, I've sent Northwind my stl, so we'll see how he gets on with it. If there's any issues/problems I'll drop you a message.

I have been defeated 🙂 It looks like a lovely 3d image but it's nonmanifold and prints sort of inside out! Beyond my limited skills.

Topical, was just wondering how best to go about replacing one of these plastic shims, as right now I have a wobbly gaffer-taped cymbal

Would 3d printing do something like that? It’s a lipped tube with a split so can be tightened. Doesn’t need to deform as the tolerance is tight.

Yup. Then again, so would a bit of innertube probably 🤔

^ wouldn’t rubber put stress on the plastic clamp? There’s a heavy steel pole clamped in there with a heavy cymbal on the top that also gets bashed a lot by a heavy dude 😎

Not printed any for a while though.

I've actually been putting my Ender to use printing some useful things lately 🙂

@p7eaven Someone has designed that drum clamp shim thing on thingiverse - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3623162

I can print it for you unless anyone else prefers to do it? No charge. Maybe bung us a couple of quid for postage. Just let me know.

I have to say, this is why I generally prefer to design and print my own stuff.
There's a lot of good stuff out there, but also a lot of models where the geometry is knackered, or people have made things with no thought to clearances and tolerances etc.

Insert arrived today. I have cymbal!

top job thanks papamountain. Tonight Matthew I’m going to be AC⚡️DC and celebrate with moar crash!

Let there be drums, there was drums

The white strand = remains of the old gaffer tape I left for posterity, and to remind me of how shite it was having to lightly tap the damn thing for fear of breaking the clamp. Thanks to 3D printing - can now hammer for the Gods 🥁
