i am trying to convert an .rfa file downloaded from https://www.genielift.com/en-gb/support/bim into a step file.

i do not have the capacity. fairly sure i need Revit or Inventor to do this - any users fancy doing me a favour? (GS-4655)

failing that any advice welcome. i can open the .rfa in navis, and convert from navis into FBX or DWF, but still cant get either of them into a working step file.

The preferred pejorative term is CAD Monkey if you please 😉 I can-no-doie with the tools at my disposal I'm afraid, have you asked the manufacture?

You can't open an .rfa file format in Inventor I just tried and I don't have Revit to try and convert it that way.

My mate's a CAD donkey. He-or, he-or, he ought to be able to do it.

Solidworks can't directly, but if you can save it as an STL or DXF, it will work but may have surface issues.

I'd guess the same for Inventor.

You could try your FBX file with a free trial of https://cadexchanger.com/ .

I've not used it before, caveat emptor n' all that.

Try here

https://b2b.partcommunity.com/3d-cad-models/sso/genie-gs-4655-genie?info=genie%2Fgenie20gs-4655.prj&cwid=6786

as they have a downloadable STEP version.
